Alarm and Detection Technician

About the Role

-Perform service and inspection activities on electrical fire alarm systems, access controls, security, cctv and nurse call systems.
-Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality inspections.
-Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, and operational manuals.
-Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing as well as troubleshooting problems.
-Provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most efficient and cost effective methods to return equipment to working order.

Requirements

Qualifications:

-Must be a self-motivated individual

-Minimum High School diploma with electrical and/or electronic background

-Must hold a valid Maine Master, Journeyman, or Limited Low Energy License

-2 yrs experience working on Fire Alarm and Security Systems

-Ability to transport equipment and tools weighing up to 40 lbs

-Ability to work in confined spaces, and adept at maneuvering ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment

-Demonstrate knowledge of electricity/electronics

-Ability to read architectural and electrical drawings

-Ability to effectively work well independently

-Demonstrate an aptitude for troubleshooting systems and perform necessary repairs

-Ability to identify and sell basic product enhancement to customers

-Possess a valid Maine drivers license

-Nicet Level 1 Certified a plus
